Courses Offered

Enrollment requirements: Students must be at least 16 years of age and have a high school diploma (from a state recognized school) or GED. Foreign diplomas must be translated and certified by the Association of Credentials Evaluator (www.aice-eval.org) or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (www.naces.org).

Cosmetology Course objectives:

This course covers basic knowledge and techniques in developing skills in hairstyling, hair-shaping, permanent waving, hair relaxing, hair coloring, facial make-up, and people skills. Graduates are trained and qualified for an entry level position in any phase of Cosmetology.

 

Esthetics Course objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the student shall have demonstrated competencies required to pass the State Board Examination and the ability to:

  • A. Analyze and recognize skin disorders.
  • B. Perform facial massage techniques.
  • C. Operate skin care treatment machines.
  • D. Apply masks for the improvement of the skin.
  • E. Perform superfluorous hair removal treatment.
  • F. Recommend prescriptions for home care and retailing.
  • G. Apply make-up.
  • H. Apply safety and sanitary measures for the protection of the client, the salon, and the public.

I. Secure a position as an Esthetician, Make-up Artist, Salesperson or Manager, Cosmetic Buyer, Manufacturers' Representative, Research Assistant, Beauty Editor, and working with Doctors as an Esthetician.

 

Teacher Training Course objectives:

To develop in each student teacher the teacher skills and techniques related to the teaching of cosmetology.

To provide supervised practical experience for each student teacher in the training of cosmetology.

If a student graduates, even one day past the specified time, they are considered, by the department of education, to have not completed in normal time. Our actual completion rates are very high, but may not be within the specified time.
